Dr Anna Johnson- Clinical Psychologist
Anna’s client population over the past twenty years has been multi-cultural and includes individuals, couples, families and/or groups. Her aim is to develop creative clinical strategies with her clients in order to explore their presenting concerns, identify goals, find practical solutions for problems as well as facilitate self discovery. She perceives this process as unique for every person involved.
Her focus includes clinical symptoms such as: anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment related to acculturation, life stage issues, post trauma syndrome, low self esteem, grief/loss, family and children’s issues and, work-life balance. Her interest and experience include interventions with males and females to resolve the psychological distress associated with adjustment to relational problems (e.g separation and divorce), developmental and transitional issues (e.g empty nest syndrome) as well as lack of fulfilment.
She also enjoys working with females (all age groups) regarding medically related diagnoses such as weight problems, menopause, cancer, trauma, grief and loss associated with miscarriage.
Anna’s approach integrates the theory and techniques of perspectives such as Ecosystemic thinking, CBT, Client-centred, Brief Solution Focused, Family Systems Therapy and, EFT for Couples in multidisciplinary practice.
