Frank Bergmann - Clinical Psychologist
Frank is a registered clinical psychologist and specialises in the treatment and prevention of a range of psychological and general health problems affecting adolescents, adults, couples and families. He has a keen interest in personal growth and development and has helped individuals to enhance interpersonal skills and the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships. His areas of interest include the treatment of grief and loss, depression, adjustment and emotional difficulties. He has worked as a unit manager in a large government psychiatric hospital, supervised intern and post graduate psychologists and has assisted on university psychology selection panels. Frank has 10 years experience in private practice and works using a wide range of therapeutic frameworks and techniques based on respect and acceptance. Frank is a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychology.
   
Dr Desiree Stephen - Clinical Psychologist
Desiree has worked with clients to help them overcome a range of difficulties including, depression and other mood related conditions, anxiety, adjustment, addictions, trauma, eating related problems, grief and psychosexual issues. Desiree approaches therapy in a holistic manner, taking into account early life experiences and prior learning to understand how the person’s current functioning is being impacted. She understands the importance of conducting a thorough assessment of a client’s presentation in order to tailor a treatment approach that meets their unique needs. In working together with the client, Desiree endeavors to enhance the individual’s capacity to live life with vitality in accordance to what they value and find meaningful. Desiree is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, College of Clinical Psychologists.
   
Dr Lars Madsen - Clinical Psychologist
Lars has 10 years experience practicing as a Clinical Psychologist in both the UK and Australia and has worked with clients to address a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, anger, life style transition problems and trauma. Lars’s therapeutic approach emphasises a holistic perspective of individuals and endeavours to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment to assist a person identify and develop their own strengths and skills to overcome the difficulties they are facing. Lars completed his Master degree in Clinical Psychology in Australia before obtaining a Ph.D. in psychology at Newcastle University in the UK. He also has specific experience providing psychological reports for criminal and civil courts and has published research in academic journals as well as presented at international conferences.
   
Wade Jacklin - Clinical Psychologist

Wade is passionate about psychology and has enjoyed working with clients in both a clinical and coaching capacity for the past 10 years. In his capacity as a Clinical Psychologist, Wade specialises in the treatment and prevention of a range of psychological and general health problems affecting adults, couples and families. Wade is a strong advocate of positive psychology with specific areas of interest including the treatment of anxiety, depression and work-related stress. Wade is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, College of Clinical Psychologists.

   
Geraldine Whittaker - Psychologist

Geraldine has extensive experience working with families, adolescents and children who have experienced disruption or trauma in their lives. Geraldine believes that family relationship are fundamental to wellbeing and influence the selection and maintenance of subsequent relationships. Many families experience stress as a result of relationship or marital tension, separated families, domestic violence, insecure attachments, parenting difficultes, behaviour problems, sibling abuse, or the impact of sexual abuse. As life experiences impact on our a bility to form and sustain healthy relationships, Geraldine encourages clients to explore issues and feelings that will help them achieve healthy relationships within their family and community. When Geraldine is working with children and adolescents she takes into account their family circumstances, developmental stage and intersts so that they can feel respected and safe to explore their world and develop skills to cope with the stresses of life.

   
Shay Addison - Psychologist

Shay has experience working as a psychologist in a variety of different contexts with children, adolescents and adults in both Australia and England. Shay has 10 years experience in the field of clinical psychology and has enjoyed working collaboratively in helping individuals manage a range of life difficulties, including impulse control problems, anger management, relationship and adjustment difficulties. She has also helped individuals to improve interpersonal skills, specifically around the issues of communication and managing conflict. Shay has developed, implemented and evaluated systems relating to behavioural performance. She has presented clinical work at international conferences, and believes in utilising a strength-based approach to assist individuals strive forward in life to achieve their potential.

   
Leith Morris - Sport & Exercise Psychologist (Provisionally Registered)

Leith has experience working with individuals and groups in both performance enhancement and lifestyle change capacities. Leith is currently researching in the area of motivation and weight loss and is passionate about weight management for the improvements that it can bring not just to individuals’ physical health, but also to their general life satisfaction. Leith is currently completing her Masters degree at the University of Queensland specialising in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

   
Louise Du Chesne - Clinical Psychologist

Louise has worked with adolescents, families and adults across a range of therapeutic settings.  She has experience working with people struggling with eating disorders and with substance abuse.  She has a particular interest in recovery from traumatic events, including childhood sexual abuse, and works sensitively with clients to draw on their inherent strengths in order to address experiences of posttraumatic stress and other trauma related conditions.  Louise has an interest in couples counselling and parenting support and has a good understanding of the particular issues facing lesbians and gay men.  Louise is a qualified Gestalt Therapist and brings a relational and ‘here and now’ approach to her work.   Louise is currently completing her Clinical Doctorate in Psychology and her research investigates treatment for people who have experienced trauma and substance abuse.

Malcolm (Mal) Bouttell - Office Manager

After a 35 year career with Qantas in North Queensland Mal decided to head for the 'bright lights' of Brisbane. Mal is an essential member of our team who is much appreciated by our Psychologists and clients. His customer service is outstanding and his enthusiasm for life is infectious.
