Kelvin’s thoughts on the therapeutic process for couples

Within these constraints my main focus for couples is behaviour modification as well as being client centred. This process allows a flow of recognition of thoughts, feelings, goals and beliefs central to the relationship ideology. My purpose is to enhance resources both individualistically and as a couple. The goal of this style of therapy is twofold in that gaining the insight of core strengths and abilities we can negotiate positive outcomes and achieve mutual goals for a positive relationship.

Psychometric Assessments

The ability to be able to measure memory, executive function, processing speed, verbal comprehension, logic and distractibility give all of us insight to our abilities across a broad spectrum. With this knowledge, our strengths and weaknesses are then known. However these abilities may change across time and be subjected to environmental, emotional, psychical and significant events that we experience throughout our lives.

My interest in conducting psychometric assessments is to have insight and an understanding of what happens throughout our lifespan. Thus equipping us and those around us with pertinent information for planning our academic, professional, and senior years with insight and success. My assessments include Full Scale IQ for both children and adults and memory testing for seniors (including dementia).

Results are comprehensive, integrating individual strengths and weaknesses, personality style, and one's social/situational context, including family, school, and work settings.

Emphasis is placed on providing a comfortable, cooperative, and relaxed environment so that individuals may perform to the best of their abilities, facilitating the usefulness and accuracy of results. Ultimately, the goal of testing is to assist individuals and their families to gain a better understanding of themselves while providing detailed recommendations to improve ones future. All psychometric assessments include a written report as well as statistical analysis.
